Mentor - 2019 Summer Camps
Beky has always loved the outdoors. From a young age she felt a profound gratitude and connection to natural landscapes, be it during a hike, from a bike or canoe, or even just watching documentaries. This love eventually pushed her towards environmental sciences, earning a B.Sc in Global Food Security with a specialization in International Agriculture from McGill University. Always looking for new ways to work outside, she has spent her summers throughout CEGEP and university leading camping trips in the Quebec Laurentians, working at an agricultural research lab, and dabbling in viticulture.
Beky has learned to approach health and well-being as an interaction of environmental and social factors. She believes understanding one's local food system is very empowering, and can strengthen personal agency in vulnerable communities. Agricultural education, food skill acquisition, and environmental stewardship are at the core of this understanding, and at the core of what she hopes to bring to Earth Path.
Beky is happy to re-enter the camp world and is excited to encourage curiosity. Cheers to dirt under fingernails!
